New Grants Equals New Growth!

Lake Fork Stables was fortunate to receive two grants in the past six months that have helped to improve our facility as well as our ability to care for our horses.

The first grant was awarded in October by the Wood Count Electric Charitable Foundation. This grant provided the funding needed to install a septic system and bathroom at the barn. This was a much-needed addition to our facility as we continue to grow and increase the number of children we serve not only every week but on a daily basis. The septic system was fully installed by November. This addition makes it possible for us to now host groups of kids and take full advantage of the programs we have been developing.

The second grant we received was from the Texas Racing Commission via the Texas Thoroughbred Association. This grant provided us with $4000 towards the care of our retired racehorses. We are now sanctuary to six retired racehorses ranging from 6 to 26 years old.

Arrival is a son of the great Tapit.
