Horseback Riding in Dallas? Why Not Get Out into the Country!

Dallas has a lot to offer visitors, but if you're not into the hustle and bustle of the city, the best thing you can do is get out and enjoy nature!

Located just three minutes from Lake Fork and just an hour and a half from Dallas, Lake Fork Stables offers a unique opportunity for visitors and tourists in the area. While we can't offer a private trail ride just yet, we do offer a riding experience using our lesson horses.

Our horseback ride is unique in that guests get the opportunity to be hands-on with our horses, just like you would in a first lesson. You will learn how to groom and saddle our riding horses and then ride the horse in our arena. Guests learn all of the basic skills in a controlled and safe setting. You'll also have the opportunity to learn more about our Thoroughbred horses, all of which are retired racehorses!

While trail rides are fun, they are actually best suited for more experienced riders. This is because you're adding an extra level of freedom for the horse and unexpected obstacles to the ride. If you don't have good control of the horse, this can be a dangerous situation and is not always going to be the best experience on a horse as beginners.

By booking a ride or riding lessons with us, you're supporting an important program for kids in our East Texas community. We also offer a regular lesson program for all ages as well as group lessons.
